PAUL KAY | RHYTHM AND HUES - SYNCOPATIONS IN WOOD

Wednesday, June 1, 2022 - Sunday, June 19, 2022

Studio W, 6 Bourke St Woolloomooloo, Wednesday - Sunday 10am - 5pm

JOIN THE ARTIST ON SATURDAY 4TH JUNE, 3 - 5PM This body of work encompasses my response to observations of humanity and our environment. These elements continually influence our thoughts, reactions and discussion, our lifestyle and trends, social media, the sciences, our education and health. My experience with wood, the age-old naturally occurring material has enabled me to convey my thoughts and ideas through this medium. Each of these sculptural reliefs are from a single piece of timber. The colours used are a conscious part of this influence and through my personal studies I am inspired by many artists from early to mid 20th century modernism. Shadow inside and around my sculptures becomes an integral part of the interplay between the conscious and sub conscious interpretation of the viewer. woodreview.com.au/news/paul-kay-exhibition-rhythm-and-hues Paul Kay
